2024 Activity Report

Introduction

The year 2024 was a landmark period for MushinToTheWorld Foundation as we carried out impactful activities in line with our commitment to SDGs 4 (Quality Education), 13 (Climate Action), and 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). This report highlights our monthly achievements, showcasing our efforts in community engagement, youth empowerment, and environmental sustainability.

January

In January, MushinToTheWorld Foundation focused on laying the groundwork for the year. Through internal planning and strategy sessions, the team worked collaboratively to establish clear and achievable goals for impactful community initiatives. This period allowed us to reflect on past achievements, identify areas for improvement, and align our objectives with the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

February

February was dedicated to building stronger relationships with stakeholders and potential partners. During this month, we organized meetings aimed at fostering collaborations that would enhance the delivery of our projects. These discussions opened doors to new opportunities and partnerships, reinforcing our commitment to making a difference in the Mushin community.

March

In March, the foundation intensified its efforts to raise awareness on critical issues affecting the community. We conducted community sensitization sessions in Mushin, focusing on sustainability and health education. These sessions empowered residents with knowledge and tools to address environmental and health challenges while encouraging active participation in creating a better community.

April

April marked our celebration of Earth Day, where we joined forces with environmental advocacy groups to promote climate action. The activities emphasized waste management practices and the importance of individual contributions to protecting the planet. Through these initiatives, we inspired community members to adopt sustainable habits and take pride in environmental stewardship.

May

In May, preparations for the Teach SDG Project began in earnest. This project is designed to improve education access for public primary school pupils in Mushin. Our team engaged with educators, parents, and local leaders to identify the needs of students and craft a program that would have a lasting impact on their academic journey and future prospects.

June

June was a time for reflection and growth as we conducted a mid-year review to evaluate our progress. This review helped us identify successes and areas requiring additional effort. We also launched a volunteer engagement drive, welcoming new supporters into our network and fostering a sense of community among those committed to our cause.

July

During July, we focused on preparing for the International Youth Day keynote address. The team worked diligently to craft a message that would resonate with young people, emphasizing leadership, responsibility, and the role of youth in fostering sustainable development. These preparations set the stage for impactful discussions and inspiring moments in August.

August

August was a highlight of the year as we celebrated International Youth Day in collaboration with the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN). Our keynote address encouraged young people to take responsibility for their community and become champions of sustainable growth. The event was a platform to share our vision and inspire action among the next generation of leaders.

September

In September, MushinToTheWorld Foundation actively participated in World Cleanup Day, collaborating with the NYCN Mushin local branch. The event, held at Ladipo Market, mobilized community members to clean their environment and raise awareness about proper waste management practices. This initiative not only improved the physical environment but also fostered a sense of collective responsibility.

October

October was a month of global learning and exchange as Babatunde O. Enitan, our founder, participated in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). This program provided valuable insights into global best practices in NGO management and community development. Visits to key organizations and workshops strengthened our capacity to drive change in Mushin.

November

In November, preparations for the ‘From MushinToTheWorld: IVLP Debriefing’ began. This initiative aims to share the experiences and lessons gained during the IVLP program with stakeholders and community members. By fostering dialogue and collaboration, we sought to secure support for ongoing and future projects, including the Teach SDG Project and Project 3D.

December

December was a time for celebration and reflection as we marked International Men’s Day. The event highlighted the significant contributions of men to community development and sustainable growth. Through this celebration, we recognized their efforts and encouraged continued active participation in building a resilient and thriving Mushin community.

Our focus/objectives are specifically selected in line with the United Nation’s agreement on 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by year 2030…
